Six six six!!! Six is all that passes through the minds and lips of all those who supported Presec’s journey at NSMQ 2020 from start to finish.

After 11 good years and reaching two finals, Presec – Legon won the 2020 National Science and Mathematics Questionnaire (NSMQ).

Just as Liverpool scored Tottenham to win their sixth Champions League trophy, Presec also killed OWASS and Adisadel College to pick their own.

Liverpool had Sadio Mane, Mohammed Salah and Virgil van Dijk to make their dream come true and Presec made sure to take his look to the 2020 NSMQ final.

Presec’s dream of taking home a sixth trophy was made possible by his players, super substitute Isaac Kofi Gyamfi (Van Dijk), Benjamin Quansah Nketsiah (Mane) and Gakpetor Daniel Kekeli (Salah).

Although they won the competition, it was five super difficult rounds for all the schools.

By the end of the first round, they were struggling to score points. Presec – Legon finished with 14 points, while Opoku Ware and Adisadel fell behind with nine and seven respectively.

The second round hadn’t relieved them at all. At some point, many viewers thought the phrase “that’s wrong” that the contest teacher, Dr. Kauffman, said was a question.

Schools had not responded to the first three questions, but Presec came out in the lead with 18 points.

The problem of the day saved them the day when Presec finished with 5 points, bringing their total to 23 points.

Opoku Ware had 14 points, while Adisadel finished with 15 after hitting eight of 10 points.

The True or False round had Presec replace his Mane, Benjamin, with his Van Dijk, Isaac.

Adisadel also made some changes to push his luck and try to win the ultimate prize.

Isaac, who is known for scoring perfect in the round, got all but two questions that he called to answer correctly, bringing the Presec total to 33.

The boys put a five point margin between themselves and Adisadel, who had 28 points. Opoku Ware was left with 18 points.

Isaac wasn’t finished! I was just getting started for the Fifth Round. The Round, like all the others, was also difficult, but he answered the first riddle right on the third track obtaining, for his school, three points.

The Adisadel boys, who had 31 points, weren’t willing to give Presec the win after pressing the buzzer while the quiz teacher was reading the first clue for the last puzzle.

However, doing it right would give the school five points for responding Coriolis effect, Mbebo, failed to earn all five points for Adisadel College, leaving Presec as the final winner.

At the end of the competition, Presec had a total of 36 points and his close competitor Adisadel had 31 points. OWASS scored 21 points.

This year’s competition has been an exciting experience even in the face of Covid-19, as the schools brought wit, intellect, and class.

The ‘Owarians’ were unable to take advantage of their newfound ‘Kumerican’ fame to end their 18-year NSMQ drought.

The Santa Clausians just have to try to win a second trophy next year.
