Professor Peter Twumasi, Director General of the National Sports Authority (NSA), has sent a message of goodwill to the Ghana Black Satellites ahead of the U20 African Cup of Nations (AFCON) finals against Uganda.

The Black Satellites defeated the Gambia by a single goal in the semi-finals to set up a final clash with Uganda on Saturday 6 March at the Stade Olympique in Nouakchott, Mauritania.

A single goal, courtesy of a free kick by Percious Boah, was enough to give Ghana one last spot to face Uganda, while Uganda went into the game as a 4-1 winner over Tunisia in their semi-final game.

A statement from the NSA Director General said: “The Director General of the National Sports Authority (NSA), Professor Peter Twumasi, wishes the Ghana Black Satellites the best of luck in their participation in the Cup final. African U-20 of 2021 Nations (AFCON). We will encourage the coaching staff and the playing corps to do everything possible for Ghana to win the coveted trophy for the fourth time. ”

He added that, the NSA believes in the team’s ability and is confident that Ghana will emerge victorious when they play Uganda on Saturday and urged the Ghanaians to muster their unwavering support for the team to win the title.

This would be Ghana’s sixth appearance in the AFCON U-20 final, while Uganda will make their debut in this competition’s grand final.

Ghana has won the competition three times, 1993, 1999 and 2009 and a victory on Saturday will lead Ghana to four AFCON U-20 trophies.
