The secretary general of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketia, affirms that the New Patriotic Party (PNP) through the Kufuor administration to that of the current administration, Nana Akufo-Addo has the propensity to interrupt the campaign of the main opposition NDC.

According to the Chief Scribe of the NDC, the PNP is intolerant of the opinions and campaign messages of its political opponents.

Alluding to a recent incident in the Ashanti region regarding the NDC’s intention to organize a health walk to spark the enthusiasm of its supporters, General Mosquito, as he is popularly called, speaking on the morning show Ade Akye Abia of Okay FM, accused the ruling party of deliberate sabotage of NDC campaign activities.

“Just one day before we (NDC) were about to embark on a health walk, the same police who had already given us the go-ahead, drew the attention of one of our MPs to the fact that the vice president is In Kumasi and as part of your list of activities, you are about to participate in a health walk and will use the same route that we intend to follow. So we had to suspend ours to make room for nuclear power plants … this is not the first time that the ruling nuclear power plant has disrupted our campaign activities. . . Why is the vice president above the law? This is the trademark of NPP; they like to do this all the time and these are the things that foster electoral violence and that is why I want Ghanaians to know. “

“. .. if the NDC hadn’t turned a blind eye to some of the nuclear power plant’s actions, all hell would have broken out in the Ashanti region recently. Whenever the PNP is in power, we do not know if it is due to the lack of a convincing campaign message or what, all means will try to scuttle our electoral plans, ”he enraged.

“We have experienced and endured this type of behavior from the era of former President Kufuor to this day and it is still happening, so I will plead with the PNP that if they know that they have performed credibly as a government, they should allow Ghanaians must judge and see if they will have their vote on December 7. . . ”He added.

The NDC Secretary General warned that continued action by the PNP is a recipe for electoral chaos, adding that the NDC, when in government, never engaged in inferior communist tactics during elections just to cling to power. He was emphatic that the opposition party will ignore the police demand to reschedule his health walk.

“… they have done this to us several times and that is why we have to talk about it so that we can all make the effort to make the campaign peaceful as soon as possible.”

“… The NDC does not recognize the presence of the Vice President in the region to undertake campaign activities… that is why the police cannot stop us. Our health walk will not generate electoral violence and that is why we will continue it and if the PNP wants, they can also undertake a similar health walk along that same route ”, he dared.
