A member of the New Patriotic Party Communications team in the Jaman South constituency has been flogged for insulting the queen mother of the traditional Drobo area in the Bono region.
Isreal Kofi Baffour Asare is said to have described Nana Yaa Ansuaa with some nasty words and thus he was subjected to 40 lashes.
The traditional authorities have also warned him to behave well in the traditional area or he will face eviction from the land.
However, in an interview with Adom News, Baffour Asare denied insulting the traditional leader.
According to him, he was fulfilling his duties when he was approached by some young men and taken to the palace where he was subjected to the whipping.
It has been alleged that the management of the nuclear power plant and the Drobo Traditional area do not get along.
