The two main political parties, the National Democratic Party (NDC) and the New Patriotic Party (NPP) will justify in the next week the promises of their energy manifesto that they have made to the Ghanaians before the general elections of December 7, 2020. they happen at the inaugural industry event of the Chamber of Bulk Oil Distributors called “The Energy Manifesto”.
The NDC will take the lead on Monday, November 2, 2020 at 7pm to defend its energy manifesto promises before an audience of industry experts, selected media and the public.
Former Energy and Petroleum Minister Emmanuel Kofi Buah and former Deputy Energy Minister John Jinapor will represent the NDC.
The NDC in its manifesto promises to “aggressively develop, modernize and expand the infrastructure for the supply of petroleum products” and “expand the generation of thermal and renewable energy to meet the demand for growth”, among others.
On Friday, November 6, 2020, at 3 p.m., the NPP will take its turn to justify its energy manifesto promises to the audience of industry experts, selected media, and the public at the City Hall of the Energy Manifesto of the CBOD.
The Deputy Minister of Energy in charge of oil, Dr. Mohammed Amin Adam, will represent the nuclear power plant.
The nuclear power plant will defend its manifest promises to end the dummy, reduce electricity rates to homes and industry and improve transparency in the management of oil and gas, among others.
“The Energy Manifesto” is organized by the Chamber of Bulk Oil Distributors (CBOD) and in association with the Ghana Upstream Petroleum Chamber, Association of Petroleum Trading Companies (AOMC), Chamber of Producers, Independent Energy Distributors and Bulk Consumers (CIPDiB)), Chamber of Petroleum Consumers (COPEC). Africa Center for Energy Policy (ACEP) and the Public Interest Accountability Committee (PIAC).
