Not Ronaldo as Kwabena Yeboah names the three greatest players of all time

Celebrated Ghanaian sportscaster Kwabena Yeboah has named Edson Arantes do Nascimento, widely known as Pelé, as the greatest footballer in history.

According to him, although Pelé may not be as talented as Messi and Maradona, his achievement as a three-time World Cup winner places him above all else as the best footballer in history.

“People who saw Pele say that there is no one like him. Personally, I will not hesitate to choose Pelé above anyone else as the best footballer in history ”.

Kwabena Yeboah was discussing the death of ‘football god’ Diego Maradona with Accra-based Hot FM.

The legendary announcer said it would be an understatement to describe Maradona as a genius.

For him, Maradona personified who is a ‘football god’. He is amazed by the talent of the great Argentine whom he describes as “mystical and incredible.”

“We can remember Maradona for so many things. He is someone who goes beyond genius. He is a football god. It is incredible that the world has lost a great man like Maradona. We will remember him for the splendor and uproar he brought into our homes. He had his problems but we will remember him for what he did on the pitch ”.

“The world has lost an extraordinary person and I don’t think he can be replaced. He was very short and, for a short man, he defied the logic of football. We will remember him for the great things he did. He won trophies wherever he went. It was mystical, absolutely incredible.

Kwabena Yeboah stated that when it comes to the gift of playing soccer, neither of the aforementioned greats is on the same level as Lionel Messi, yet Messi’s inability to win the World Cup will always ruin him when talking about the best footballer of all time.

All three players are his all-time best three and, as much as he would love to name Messi the greatest, he believes the records favor Pelé more than the two Argentines.

“In terms of raw talent, Messi defies logic at times. Messi is God’s gift to the world of football. But with all the stats, the fact that he hasn’t won the World Cup before is a major drawback. But if you talk about statistics, nobody comes close to Messi ”.

“The fact that Pelé at age 17 pounced on the world of soccer and won the World Cup makes it difficult for anyone to bypass Pelé and give him to someone else. The biggest drawback of Messi is that he has not won the World Cup, which is the greatest glory.
