Northern Region registers 3 more cases of Covid-19

The Northern Region has registered three more cases of Covid-19.

While two of the cases were reported in the southern Nanumba district, the third was reported in the Tolon district of a precinct chief who recently returned to the community.

These results come from the testing center of the Tamale Teaching Hospital Public Health Laboratory, which began testing last Thursday.

The Northern Regional Director of the Ghana Health Service, John D Eleeza, who revealed this at a donation ceremony from the Agricultural Development Bank (ADB) to the Tamale Teaching Hospital, said the issue of stigma has begun to combat efforts made to contact people who might have come into contact with Covid-19 patients.

He, therefore, appealed to the media to educate the masses on Covid-19’s problems to help reduce stigma.

He said the Tamale testing center has conducted more than 300 tests, of which four were positive.

ADB Deputy Managing Director Alhaji Alhassan Yakubu Tali, who submitted the articles to the Regional Minister, said the bank promised to support the government with GH ¢ 1,000,000 to help fight Covid-19.

He said that of that amount, GH ¢ 200,000 was donated to the Covid-19 fund and the remaining GH ¢ 800,000 was used to buy some items to donate to more than 15 selected institutions across the country, including TTH and the District Hospital of Tolon. .

Donated items included Veronica buckets, hand gloves. disinfectants, tissue box, soap, liquor, nasal masks, among others.
