For someone who was exposed to music at an early stage, Gyakie is now living her dream of making music commercially and while the weight of expectations is enormous, the singer says she doesn’t feel pressured to keep her father’s legacy alive. .
“I am proud of my father’s exploits, but I don’t think I am competing with him or trying to maintain his legacy. I don’t want to feel that pressure or weight in my young career because I want to progress at my own pace ”.

He is currently studying International Business at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) and, although he is still in school, he noted that he has his father’s blessing to dedicate himself to music.
“I have the blessings of my father. He appreciates the path I have chosen and has been my number one motivator encouraging me not to give up. He always tells me that my only language should be to win and that’s why, even with my busy school schedule, I keep making music, “he said.
Having had her own experience, Gyakie, whose real name is Jacqueline Acheampong, said that she had prepared herself to overcome the difficulties that limited female acts.
According to her, she had observed how many female acts like Raquel and many others had faded away, a common fact that she attributed to the little support they received.
She indicated that she intended to excel by sticking to her versatility and staying unique.
“The music industry needs attention. There are so many talents out there creating beautiful records that would put Ghana on the map, but the focus is one-sided, so other acts don’t have the enthusiasm to do more, ”he noted.
In August 2020, Gyakie released her debut project, a five-track EP titled Seed and explores various genres to reflect her musical quest to find and stay true to herself.
Gyakie signed with FlipTheMusic Record Label and told him Graphic showbiz that in addition to his father, he admired Bisa Kdei’s musical prowess.
“My dad talks about how proud he is of this new generation and the kind of music that is making waves now. Personally, I admire Bisa Kdei because she has stayed true to Highlife and deserves praise for that, ”he stated.
