Greater Accra National Democratic Congress (NDC) regional chair Ade Coker has rejected suggestions that the NDC leadership in Parliament should be changed following the approval of all of President Akufo-Addo’s ministers when some of them do not Your responses during the background check were qualified for the position.

According to him, any such movement will disrupt the NDC as a party.

He suggested on TV3’s Key Points programs on Saturday, April 3 that the game should stay focused and return to the table to correct mistakes.

His comments follow ongoing internal disputes at the NDC after approval by all of President Akufo-Addo’s ministers.

The legislator for North Tongu, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, resigned from the Parliament’s appointments committee.

He said in a letter to spokesman Alban Kingsford Bagbin that the decision was made “after days of careful thought and reflection.”

Ablakwa resigned from the Committee on Wednesday, March 31.

“I would like to state that the reasons for this difficult decision are both personal and in principle.”

Mr. Coker said: “There is no need to change leadership now. Rather it will muddy the waters. We need to stay focused and also be cautious. It is premature to try to change the leader ”.

Furthermore, he noted that there is much speculation about what led to Mr. Ablakwa’s resignation from the Committee.

This is because Mr. Ablakwa did not give reasons for his resignation, he said.

To that end, Mr. Ade Coker said that it is necessary to know the voting line of Mr. Ablakwa when he was in the Committee during the examination of the ministerial candidates of President Akufo-Addo.

Mr. Ade Coker told program host Abena Tabi that “In the future, your vote record in parliament may be removed. If you go to America, there is nothing like consensus.

“We will have to find out during the investigation process what your [Ablakwa’s] the voting line was. That will determine and help us make a judgment on what you are saying about the principles.

“If you’ve consistently voted against the nominees, then it seems okay, then you can say it’s no use being on the committee still.

“I want to know what the voting pattern was like. If the voting pattern was such that you lost, then you are obliged to accept the results of what happened, but here we are, they just come and tell us that it is consensus.

He added that “the resignation gives rise to speculation, it gives rise to a lot of rumors against the NDC.”
