Three of Ghana’s best schools clash today for trophy, prestige and bragging rights in the finals of the national math and science competition.

Presbyterian Boys Secondary School (Presec), Adisadel College (Adisco) and Opoku Ware Senior High School (OWASS) emerge among the top 3 schools in the coveted NMSQ competition out of a total of 135 schools.

Of the 108 schools competing for the Preliminary Stage, 54 of them made up of 40 winners and 14 finalists go on to the Eighth Stage of the competition, where more 27 seeded schools of NSMQ 2019 will fight.

How dem get to the end

Two-time champion Opoku Ware SHS will face Accra Academy and Amponsem SHS in the semi-finals.

At the end of the contest, OWASS led by 55 points, eliminating Accra Academy, whom people target as potential winners, and Boa Amponsem SHS, who make their first appearance in the semi-finals.

Adisadel College also scored 21 points, beating group favorites Achimota School and Keta SHS.

Adisadel led Achimota school by just one point to advance to the final, while Keta Senior High Technical School (KSTS) scored 17 points.

The third school goes to the final with Presec, who shows class by scoring 66 points at the end of the semifinal.

Dem beat Kumasi Academy who scored 38 points and Aburi SHTS who scored 18 points at the end of the contest.

How are the top three schools ranked on NMSQ?

Opoku Ware SHS will be a two-time champion of the competition, but the last time he won the NMSQ trophy was 18 years ago.

Presec dey wan corrected their mistakes after they failed to win the trophy last year, where they appeared for the final stage of the 2019 NMSQ.

Two-time winners, Adisco hopes that they will win the trophy for the third time after making 4 consecutive appearances in the NMSQ finals.

From the school we will get more final NMSQ experience. They hope to say that they must take advantage of their experience to win the trophy and the right to brag.
