Nkoranza North: Deputy Defense Minister Loses to NDC’s Kwasi Mensah | Politics

The Deputy Minister of Defense, Major (rtd) Derek Oduro, who is also a Member of Parliament (MP) for Nkoranza North, lost his seat to the candidate for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mr. Joseph Kwasi Mensah.

Mensah obtained 15,124 votes to beat the incumbent deputy, who managed to obtain 10,978 votes.

In the presidential results, the president of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Akufo-Addo, obtained 13,314, while the NDC presidential candidate, John Dramani Mahama, obtained 11,928, the GUM candidate Christian Andrews obtained 242 votes and Ivor Greenstreet from the CPP got 18 votes.

The GFP parliamentary candidates had four votes, GCPP had nine, APC got 16 votes, LPG had 21, PNC had 22, PPP managed to get five votes, NDP also got five and the independent candidate had 35 votes.

The total number of votes cast was 26,614 of which 25,619 were valid while 995 votes were rejected.
