One of the trending topics on Twitter on Tuesday is SMan, which stands for Stingy Men’s Association of Nigeria, as more and more Nigerian celebrities share membership card mockups for the group.
A tweet from music producer Don Jazzy from his own card has been retweeted more than 11,000 times.

An “official” SMan Twitter account emerged on Monday:

Tweeters have been joking about creating a hymn, a venue, and an oath.
It is not clear to us how the trend started in Nigeria, but the idea has already spread to Africa.
In December, a supplement to the Uganda Daily Monitor published an article describing a proposed constitution for the Ugandan arm of the group.
In that article, Ian Ortega wrote: “This constitution drafted in the year of the pandemic will define the meaning of austerity for generations to come.”
Some parts of their “constitution” attack brides who ask their boyfriends for money.
“Any daughter of Eva who asks for money will be treated as an illegal immigrant and labeled; ‘no wife material,’ ”he wrote.
He went on to say that “a member should not feel any shame in rejecting any request for money that comes his way.”
This includes requests for money for transportation or airtime.
