Neymar’s former agent Andre Cury has sensationally claimed that the Paris Saint-Germain star and Lionel Messi will play together again in Barcelona.
Brazilian striker Neymar’s future at French club PSG is uncertain as the 29-year-old’s contract will come to an end in the summer of 2022, and former club Barcelona is one of the clubs capable of buying the expensive winger.
Messi, who enjoyed a successful partnership with Neymar in Barcelona between 2013 and 2017, has been linked to a signing for PSG and the Argentine’s contract at the Catalan club ends in June.
But super agent Cury, who used to represent Neymar and orchestrated his move to Barcelona from Santos in 2013, claims that new Barcelona president Joan Laporta could arrange a move for the PSG star.
Cudry told Argentine media El Litoral: ‘Neymar has the door open in Barcelona, his fans know he made a mistake and even he recognized it some time later.
“Two years ago, Neymar formally asked me to return to Barcelona. We tried and came very close to getting him out of Paris. But, due to some details, it did not happen.
Laporta is the only one who can put them back together. Messi will not leave Barcelona, he decided that his story is in Barcelona and I have it very clear. Neymar will play with Messi again, but in Barcelona. ‘
Barcelona’s new president, Laporta, was elected earlier this month in a move that is likely to convince Barcelona captain Messi to stay at the club.
The Argentine’s future at the Camp Nou has been in serious doubt following the sensational request for the transfer of the talisman from Barcelona last summer, which almost led him to leave Barcelona.
Messi promised another season with Barcelona in August, but Laporta’s return as president could see the 33-year-old extend his contract once again.
Neymar and Messi made up two-thirds of the infamous ‘MSN’ trio of strikers alongside Uruguayan striker Luis Suárez.
Together, the Barcelona forwards helped the club achieve the treble in 2015 with former coach Luis Enrique.
Neymar ended his career at Barcelona in 2017, after 105 goals in 186 games, by sealing a world record £ 198 million move to PSG.
Since joining the French giants, the 29-year-old has led PSG to three league titles, four French national cup wins and a runner-up medal in last season’s Champions League.
