Neymar was one of five players sent off when a big fight marred Paris Saint-Germain’s 1-0 loss to Marseille.

Layvin Kurzawa and Leandro Paredes also received red cards for PSG, while Jordan Amavi and Dario Benedetto received their marching orders for Marseille.

Neymar was expelled for attacking Álvaro González in the melee.

As the Brazilian left the field at the Parc des Princes, he was seen telling the fourth official that he had been subjected to racism.

Marseille coach Andre Villas-Boas could not confirm Neymar’s claim, but told reporters: “Racism is unacceptable in football.”

Benedetto and Paredes started the fight as the stars on both sides quickly piled up, with Kurzawa and Amavi exchanging blows.

After peace was restored and the cards put away, PSG played the remainder of the match with eight men on the field and Marseille nine.

After the match, Marseille star Florian Thuavin, who scored the only goal, struck in the uproar and said: “Many children were watching tonight, we all have to be examples.”

Referee Jerome Brisard gave marching orders to five players.

Meanwhile, PSG sports director Leonardo criticized the match official, Jerome Brisard, adding: “I don’t understand why for a match like this we don’t have Turpin or Bouquet.

“This referee has no experience, a Europa League match.”

All five players were sent off in injury time, but the match itself was a fiery affair with no fewer than 36 fouls committed.

A total of 12 yellow cards were also dealt.

Paris Saint-Germain, last year’s Champions League finalists, got off to a terrible start in Ligue 1 this season, losing their first two games.

On Thursday, the Ligue 1 champions were defeated 1-0 by Lens.

This Sunday they were defeated 1-0 again, not scoring in any of their first games for the first time since the 1978/79 season.
