Mauricio Alarcón – New CEO of Nestlé

Nestlé has appointed Mauricio Alarcon as the new Chief Executive Officer of Nestlé Central and West Africa Limited, effective September 1, 2020.

Mr. Alarcón has a solid and in-depth knowledge of Central and West Africa.

A statement issued in Accra by Ms Marie Chantal Messier, Head of Corporate Communications and Public Affairs, said that in 2014 he became Managing Director of Nestlé Côte d’Ivoire, where he boosted business growth and efficiency.

He also led the Nestlé operation in Senegal, Guinea, Guinea Bissau, Gambia, Mauritania and Cape Verde.

In 2016, he became Managing Director of Nestlé Nigeria, the largest Nestlé operation in the region.

During his tenure in Nigeria, Mr. Alarcón was a catalyst for change and innovation to achieve superior business performance in a volatile environment.

He also demonstrated a strong personal commitment to improving the lives of people within the company, as well as in the communities in which it operates.

Mr. Alarcón is a Mexican national with a Master’s Degree in Engineering from the University of Manchester, UK.

He worked in the banking sector before joining Nestlé Mexico in 1999 and in 2004, he was appointed Marketing Manager for the Ice Cream business in Australia.

He moved to Nestlé’s North and East Africa Region as Executive Director of Ice Cream Business in 2010, transforming the business by doubling turnover and improving profitability.

“I am honored and excited to lead Nestlé Central and West Africa Limited. I look forward to joining forces with all of our stakeholders to achieve Nestlé’s purpose, which is to unlock the power of food to improve the quality of life for all, today and for generations to come, ”said Alarcón.

He said: “We will achieve this by realizing our vision of providing affordable and accessible nutrition for all in West and Central Africa.”

Alarcón said they will also continue to build strong communities by improving livelihoods and intensifying our efforts to protect our planet for future generations.
