Nelson Semedo wants to join Manchester City in the next transfer window, but his next move could be decided by Lautaro Martínez’s future.
Barcelona’s full-back is a goal for several teams and is drawn by a move to the Premier League, according to reports in Spain.
He is even willing to go there despite the impending ban on the Champions League for two years to be able to play with Pep Guardiola, says Mundo Deportivo.
A deal for Semedo could see Joao Cancelo, who only joined since Juventus last summer, move in the opposite direction.
But Semedo’s future could be dictated by the saga surrounding Inter Milan striker Martinez.
Barça could seek to use the 26-year-old as a bargaining chip to attract the Argentine striker to the Camp Nou and as a means of reducing his cost.
Reports earlier this month claimed that Martinez told Inter that he wants a summer transfer to Barça.
The Italian club would be inclined to accept a reduced price of £ 80 million for the hotshot in light of the coronavirus pandemic.
Martinez has been stunning in Serie A this season and has scored 16 times in 31 games.
But he is believed to have his heart set on moving to Barça.
