Former Deputy Minister of Information Felix Kwakye Ofosu failed in his bid to become a member of parliament for the Abura Asebu Kwamankese constituency in the central region.

Kwakye Ofosu lost to Elvis Morris Donkoh of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), who is the incumbent MP.
While Donkoh got 25,048 votes representing 49.19 percent, Kwakye Ofosu got 24,872 representing 48.84 percent. The Ghana Trade Union Movement (GUM) obtained 1,001 votes representing 1.97 percent.
Of the final votes declared by the Election Commission, Kwakye Ofosu lost by 176 votes.
Kwakye Ofosu already acknowledged defeat and congratulated his opponent.

Kwakye Ofosu’s defeat comes after the NDC’s Director of Elections, Elvis Afriyie Ankrah, claimed at a press conference that the party had taken the seat from the PNP.
Previously, the NPP had reacted to the NDC press conference by claiming to have overturned 36 of its seats.
According to the PNP Secretary General John Boadu, the party is winning a majority in parliament and retaining the presidential seat.
