Former Executive Director of Bulk Petroleum Storage and Transportation (BOST), Kwame Awuah-Darko, has stated that the 2020 National Democratic Congress (NDC) manifesto was drawn up by the people of Ghana and facilitated by the party.
According to him, the manifesto that was released on Monday captures all sectors of the economy.
He stressed that the social intervention policies in the 2020 NDC manifesto will transform the country better than the Akufo-Addo-led government is currently doing.
Kwame Awuah-Darko said that the NDC manifesto was created by the people of Ghana, for the people of Ghana, and carries the will of the Ghanaians.
“The document is not a tail wagging the dog, but the head listening to the body, which is how it should be. If you want to guide people, you have to understand not only who they are or where they are ”.
“And you must have a vision that articulates where we would all like to go and where we would like to be. That is exactly what the manifesto implies, the will of the people ”. Added.
He added that Ghana has evolved and the level of illiteracy has decreased due to education and the introduction of social media.
Therefore, Ghana must be treated as smart, intelligent and knows what it wants out of life, and that is what the manifesto is about.
“We have gone from a country where the penetration of education was around 6% to where today it is around 60% because more universities have been built and more people have attended school. The most interesting thing today are social networks ”.
“So you have to approach the Ghanaian like he’s smart, smart and knows what he wants out of life and that’s what the manifesto is about,” he added.
The former BOST CEO also praised NDC Secretary General Aseidu Nketia for his comment on how the party’s manifesto came about.
