The opposition Democratic National Congress (NDC) has announced its decision to embark on a march in honor of the late former President Jerry John Rawlings.

The march, which is scheduled for Thursday, November 26, is to recognize the principles of probity and responsibility that Mr. Rawlings upheld.

Party Secretary General Johnson Asiedu Nketia in a statement on Thursday noted that recent events in the country seek to undermine the former statesman’s efforts to defend public accountability to citizens.

Considering this, Mr. Nketia said: “The party believes that it is imperative at this time to bring Ghanaians together to uphold and uphold the principles of probity and responsibility enshrined in the 1992 Constitution of Ghana, even as the nation prepares to the elections of December 7.

The Secretary General then urged everyone, including supporters of the ruling New Patriotic Party (PNP) to join this march, which is a fitting tribute to the memory of Ghana’s leading anti-corruption giant.

Rawlings died on Thursday, November 12 after a brief illness at Korle Bu University Hospital.
