Supporters of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) have taken to the main streets of Sefwi Wiaso to protest against the Electoral Commission over the results of the recently concluded general elections.
The walk for peace is said to have started from Sefwi Dwenase to Wiawso.
According to NDC supporters, the outcome of the EC presidential and parliamentary elections does not reflect the true will of the people in the December elections.
NDC parliamentary candidate Paul Evans Aidoo, who addressed the media, said they are organizing a gigantic protest Tuesday at the EC office to demand that the missing ballot box be found and returned.
“We are going to help the EC to find the missing urn. Police and other security personnel cannot find this lost urn. They may be confused, so we are going to help them. We will not leave the EC office until we find him, ”he added.
Paul Evans Aidoo stressed that the NDC will continue to protest until the ballot box that disappeared during the general election is found in the Sefwi Wiawso constituency.
He added that some unknown people tried to interrupt today’s protest and for that reason, they would have to re-strategize and hold another protest on Tuesday, December 15.
