The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has expressed dissatisfaction with the pre-election report presented by the Center for Democratic Development (CDD-Ghana), as it raises concerns about the methodology and certain findings in the report.
The Deputy National Youth Organizer of the party, Edem Agbana, speaking with Samuel Eshun on the Happy Morning Show, stated that while he appreciates the work of CDD, he finds it very important to question the methodology used in the investigation.
The question we must ask ourselves is what is the sample size? What is the methodology that was used and which groups were they focused on? For example, we have 275 constituencies, but if you move to a constituency like Bantama, Nhyiaeso, or Dome Kwabenya and then do such an investigation, even though you are talking to the same Ghanaian, you know that the feedback you will receive will be different from the one. answer you will get from the same group of people in Ashaiman, Ayawaso West Wuogon, Madina or Ayawaso East. So when this report becomes available, the first thing to ask is ‘what is the sample size of the population that used CDD’ When they finished, which districts did they choose and what is the voting pattern? What is the traditional story behind those matches? That is the question we must ask ourselves. That will also form a judgment ”.
Edem argued that some responses in the report do not represent the majority of Ghanaians. Illustrating his point, he claimed a few months ago that the opposition NDC rated the fulfillment of the current government’s promises at 14 percent. On the contrary, the CDD report states that the ruling nuclear power plant enjoys a significant advantage over the opposition NDC when it comes to public confidence in the ability to deliver on campaign promises. According to him, such a report is “surprising”.
A pre-election survey conducted by the Center for Democratic Development (CDD-Ghana) has revealed that the PNP enjoys a significant advantage (15 percentage points) over the NDC in terms of public confidence in the ability to deliver on promises of Bell.
