The ruling New Patriotic Party (PNP) says the opposition Democratic National Congress rescheduled the launch of its manifesto because its standard-bearer, John Dramani Mahama, does not have a vision for the country.

The NPP believes that the NDC has had to revise its policy document after learning about the ruling party’s plans for Ghanaians.

NPP’s National Director of Communications Yaw Buabeng Asamoah said at a press conference that the NDC cannot even be trusted to release its manifesto on September 7 as scheduled.

“Months before COVID-19 hit the world, John Mahama’s NDC set up a manifest committee on a dangerous journey to go and find out what Ghanaians want. After 16 years of NDC in the Fourth Republic of 28 years he [Mahama] He has ruled for 6 years out of those years and the last decision maker in Ghana, he is still struggling to figure out what Ghana’s governance priorities are.

“On July 1, 2020, the whole world was told that candidate Mahama had received the people’s manifesto and he said that he was going to launch it in August, but when the PNP announced on August 22 that he would launch his manifesto, it was He told the whole world that theirs would carry on. on August 29 and then came the bomb. Our manifesto hit them so hard that they postponed it until August 31, and as we speak, we are not sure it will be published as announced again on September 7.

Copy of our manifesto if you run out of ideas

Prior to the launch of NPP’s 2020 manifesto, the Party Secretary General, John boadu He ridiculed the NDC by accusing the latter of running out of campaign ideas before the 2020 general election.

He insisted that the opposition party was deliberately delaying the launch of its manifesto just to follow the guidelines of the campaign message from the Akufo-Addo-led government.

“Two months ago they announced that their manifesto is ready, but they have not been able to launch it. They are obviously waiting for us to release our manifesto so they can copy as usual as they have no original ideas. Well, we have launched ours, so you are free to copy, “he said.
