Information Deputy Minister Pius Enam Hadzide has described the NDC manifesto as a rehash of old promises broken by the former John Mahama government.

Speaking on GHONE TV on Tuesday, the Deputy Minister of Information said promoting the NDC manifesto released Monday as a People’s Manifesto is a hoax designed to trick Ghanaians into voting for the NDC in the upcoming December elections.

“It was a repetition of old promises that were not kept, especially the payment of the assembly members was an old promise from John Mahama that was not kept.

“… what concerns me is the credibility of the promises, we must compare their promises with their track record because they have made promises in the past that they have not kept.”

Announcing the highlights of the NDC manifesto on Monday at the University of Professional Studies, Accra, Professor Opoku Agyemang stated that a future NDC administration will make the free SHS better and more inclusive.

“We have all the plans and wishes to make the free SHS much better,” he said, adding that the NDC government will abolish the two-way system by completing all educational structures and electronic blocks abandoned by the NPP government.

According to her, an NDC government under John Mahama will expand the free SHS policy to cover students in private high schools.

The Democratic National Congress has also promised to build a national airport in the Upper East region if the party wins the December 7 elections.

This was revealed by the party’s standard bearer, John Dramani Mahama, during the launch of the party’s manifesto at the Accra University for Professional Studies on Monday.

Mahama said, “We will build a national airport in the Upper East region,” adding that “the land was secured when I was president, so we will continue with it.”

The former president also stated that the Kumasi airport will be upgraded to accommodate larger aircraft, adding that various markets across the country will see a facelift using the Kejetia module.

“We will establish mini gold refineries in the gold producing areas. We will partner with the private sector to help us achieve this. We will stop the export of unrefined gold. “

The former president added that his next government will repeal the law that prohibits the importation of recovered vehicles. He also reiterated his promise to legalize Okada and regulate it to provide meaningful jobs for the unemployed.

Also speaking at the ceremony, minority leader Haruna Iddrisu said that the irrigation dams to be built across the country if the Democratic National Congress wins power will be financed by the Ghana Exim bank.

According to him, the dams that the NDC will build will be fit enough to fulfill the purpose for which they were built.

“The dams that will be built under Mahama’s presidency will be adequate dams. The media often ask how the pledges will be financed; John Mahama’s promise that irrigation dams across the country will be funded by the EXIM BANK of Ghana, ”said the minority leader at the launch of the manifesto in the UPSA room in Accra on Monday.

He stressed: “What John Mahama promised, he will fulfill as his pact with the people of Ghana.”
