Supporters of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) have chosen to demonstrate in the Ashanti region on the 2020 presidential results due to their dislike and hatred for the residents.
“NDC hates development in the Ashanti region. They don’t like people and because of this hatred they burn tires in the streets of Kumasi and cause destruction, ”said Ashanti Regional Minister Simon Osei-Mensah, in reaction to the recent demonstration in the area.
Protesters attempted to burn car tires in front of Jubilee Park in Kumasi, a move that nearly spoiled the otherwise peaceful march in protest of the outcome of the 2020 elections.
Speaking of the unfortunate development of Kumasi-based Akoma FM, monitored by MyNewsGh.com, the President of Regional Security issued a stern warning to protesters.
“Why are they demonstrating in the Ashanti region? Was the presidential election declared here? They should go to Accra to demonstrate or go to court ”, H.E. Simon Osei-Mensah was enraged.
NDC protesters nearly collided with military and police force during last Sunday’s demonstration in Kumasi.
This was the second time in a week that the largest opposition party was on the streets of Kumasi because of the declared results of the elections.
The march was led by some regional and national party executives.
The NDC has pledged to continue the protests until the Ghana Election Commission (EC) annuls the results of the recently concluded elections and declares it in favor of its leader, John Dramani Mahama.
