The member of parliament for the Sagnerigu electoral district in the northern region has hinted at his party’s decision to go to court to seek redress in the December 7 elections.

Alhassan Bashir Fuseini, popularly known as Alhaji ABA Fuseini, said that no one can force the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to go to court until they have gathered all their evidence.

The 106 members of Parliament from the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Seventh Parliament of Ghana marched towards the Electoral Commission (EC) headquarters on Tuesday 22 December.

The march was to be imposed on the EC to revoke its declaration by President Akufo-Addo as the winner of the 2020 elections.

There have been a number of protests by NDC supporters across the country against the EC declaration of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo as Ghana’s president-elect after the December 7 elections.

Rockson-Nelson Etse Kwami Dafeamekpor, Member of Parliament for the South Dayi constituency in the Volta region, who hinted at Tuesday’s march on Onua TV’s 100 Degrees on Monday, explained that the party leadership will not sit down so that the CE takes them for granted.

When the host, Kwame Tutu, asked what’s next after the series of demonstrations by his party supporters, but to no avail, the NDC deputy said, “Wait and see what will happen tomorrow.”

Speaking about the issues on Onua TV’s Maakye co-hosted by Afia Tagor and Adwoa Konadu-Yiadom on Tuesday, Alhaji ABA Fuseini hinted on Twi that “we are going to go to court on December 28th. Let’s go to court ”.

He added: “We walked to the EC office to register our protest and submit a petition to the EC.”

The former minister of the Northern Region said: “we are gathering our evidence and we are going to court on December 28 because we will not allow this type of robbery in the country.”
