The New Patriotic Party (NPP) deputy campaign manager, Dr. Mustapha Abdul-Hamid has accused the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) of spreading false news to the general public.

According to him, the political party led by Mahama has developed a series of pseudo websites, with the purpose of generating fake news and misinforming the electorates.

Dr. Hamid said during a press conference on Wednesday, October 14, 2020, that the massive rejection of the NDC by Ghanaians is the cause of such a vice.

“In fact, the NDC has signed up and is using a lot of those domain names to populate the internet with a lot of fake news. They imitated the established media outlets like the Ghana News Agency and other state news agencies, ”he said.

The Inner City and Zongo Development Minister referred to the claims as “concoctions, fabrications and inventions” intended to smear the government led by Nana Akufo Addo.

He criticized the NDC leadership, especially the Member of Parliament for Tamale Central, Alhassan Fuseini Inusah, for facilitating the spread of fake news.

Dr. Hamid is calling on Ghanaians to ignore these reports and to channel their focus to the work of the ruling party.
