The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has demanded that the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service investigate Kennedy Ohene Agyapong for threats made against some of its members.

The party says that the deputy from Assin Central on his Madina Net2 TV threatened to burn the properties of certain members of the NDC.

The vociferous legislator singled out former President John Mahama; NDC Secretary General Johnson Asiedu Nketiah; a member of the NDC legal team, Baba Jamal; NDC National Organizer Joshua Akamba and NDC Director of Campaign Operations Lt. Col. Larry Gbevlo Lartey.

The NDC said it considers such statements and conduct by Mr. Ohene Agyapong “as a threat to the lives and property of the named persons.”

He said that the legislator’s action is a “potential threat to the peace of this country, and therefore, he considers it necessary for his office to deal with the matter and carry out the necessary investigations in this regard.”

He added: “We don’t need to remind you that said Kennedy Ohene Agyapong has a penchant for threatening people and inciting the public against people with whom he disagrees.”

According to the NDC, recent events such as the cold-blooded assassination of undercover investigative journalist Ahmed Suale who, prior to his assassination, was the target of similar threats from Kennedy Agyepong himself, “should remind police of the need to reduce any similar event with regarding the individuals Kennedy Ohene Agyapong has threatened on live television and incited the public against. “

The party said that it has taken “a very serious view of the conduct of MP Assin Central in this matter and, therefore, we demand that investigations be initiated immediately into such conduct to dispel the apprehensions of the aforementioned persons and maintain peace and stability of our beloved nation. “

He concluded: “We trust that you will treat this lawsuit with the urgency it requires.
