Peter Kwame Asamoah, Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings’ running mate, has refuted reports suggesting the National Democratic Party standard-bearer has withdrawn from the presidential race.
Said in an interview with Joy news On Monday the party is focused on following its agenda for this year’s presidential and parliamentary elections.
“That claim is false and should be ignored. His Excellency Dr. Mrs. Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings has certainly not drawn again. She is still on the run and we are currently on a national tour, ”he said.
The party, meanwhile, will address the media later today, and it has been speculated to address speculation that Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings has withdrawn from the 2020 general election.
But running mate Peter Asamoah is calling on Ghanaians to dismiss those claims as well.
“That is not true either. I am surprised who is spreading that information. Because we all know that the ballot papers have already been printed and even nationwide distribution has been completed, Her Excellency Dr. Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings is unable to withdraw.
“Whoever is spreading the information is responsible for spreading false information because the party structure has not issued any statement in that regard,” he added.
Accompanied by some high-ranking party members, the NDP running mate is currently campaigning in Ellembelle in the Western Region.
