Ghana striker Nana Opoku Ampomah has expressed his desire to leave Fortuna Düsseldorf from the German Bundesliga 2 in the current transfer market.

Ampomah became the rojiblancos’ expensive signing when he arrived from Belgium’s Jupilar Pro League team Waasland Beveren last summer.

However, the Ghanaian was unable to replicate the form he demonstrated in Belgium as he struggled to rack up playing time at Fortuna Düsseldorf.

The hardworking forward has been linked to a return to Belgium with his former club Waasland Beveren and Club Brugge reported showing interest in the player.

According to information from ‘Bild’, the 24-year-old wants to leave Düsseldorf immediately after he no longer feels at home at the club.

In conversations with the team’s coach, Uwe Rösler, Ampomah is said to have been informed that he only plays a secondary role in planning as he does not fit into the Rhenish system.

Fortuna is said to be demanding a € 3 to € 4 million fee for Ampomah, which has two short assignments totaling 25 minutes in the current season.
