Former Lynx Entertainment signatory Vera Hamenoo-Kpeda, better known by her stage name MzVee, has expressed her disgust at the way musics in Ghana are being treated and lacking in support.

Speaking at Accra-based Yfm, the sensational singer said that if musics are supported like men, they will always be the best versions of themselves.

“We have some amazing female artists. There’s AK Songstress, there’s Rena, there’s a girl named Tsoobi and I think she’s amazing so it’s just the support and push we need to make that noise for reggae-dancehall women in the industry,” she said.

“I think there is always hope for women in all industries and it is the same in music as well. We always have to work twice as hard as guys. It’s easier for the guys, but we come with a lot of luggage, so we need that extra support from everyone. ” she added.

She also said that she is very proud of the efforts of women musicians in the industry, and said that she loves the way they support each other in the industry.

“For me, I am very proud of us. We’ve all been waiting for this moment and I think women are really shining in music this year. I think it’s something that will continue. “ concluded.
