Komfo Anokye University Hospital in Kumasi recorded a total of 18 births on Christmas Day, December 25, 2020, and another 12 at 10 a.m. on Saturday, December 26, 2020.

In total, a total of 30 births were registered between Christmas and San Esteban.

Of this number of deliveries, six were by caesarean section while the rest were by spontaneous vaginal delivery (PBS).

Baskets
This came to light when telecommunications giant MTN Ghana, as part of its annual ritual, distributed baskets of baby items like diapers, baby soaps, toys and towels to the mothers of these babies.

The interim general manager in charge of MTN’s North Business District, Ms Adwoa Baah Afrakoma Obeng, said that each year as part of the season celebration, the company welcomes newborn babies with baskets to show them love.

He said it has become part of the company’s Corporate Social Responsibilities over the years.
