The Ashanti regional secretary of the New Patriotic Party (PNP), Mr Samuel Pyne, has said that the opposition party’s intention to legalize the “Okada” business in the country will not affect his party in any way.

According to him, most of the people involved in the “Okada” business are already members of the NDC, so there is no need for his NPP party to worry about threats that may affect their electoral fortunes.

The issue of legalizing Okada’s businesses in the country has become very prominent recently after the former president and standard-bearer of the Democratic National Congress, Mr. John Dramani Mahama, promised that he will legalize it when he is elected to power in the next elections.

However, his promise has received a lot of praise from people in particular in that line of business.

Meanwhile, the ruling nuclear power plant that ridiculed the early-stage policy finally promised to offer them vehicles that it called a less risky undertaking on the basis of work and pay.

But speaking to the GBC radio show “Behind the News” monitored by MyNewsGH.com, the NPP scribe in the Ashanti region, Mr. Samuel Payne, stated categorically that the policy suggested by John Mahama will not affect voting in the region.

“Let me be very honest with you, most of the people who use ‘okada’ are already in the NDC so this is not going to change anything,” he said.

According to Sam Payne, as a scribe for the party in the Ashanti region, he is aware of the data for the region, so there is enough evidence to show that in fact people in the “okada” business are already with the NDC, so you don’t need to worry about the matter.

He further stated that since these cyclists do not constitute the majority of the total population of his region, nothing could change the chances of his party winning the next election.
