The North Africans arrived in the nation’s capital where they will face the Black Queens in a test match before Monday’s match.

The Moroccan women’s team finally arrived in Accra for their international friendly match against Ghana on Wednesday.

The Atlas Lionesses had regrouped at Casablanca’s Mohammed VI Stadium for the second time after their last training camp in October since the coronavirus lockdown restrictions were lifted.

After a few days of training at the camp, they left the Moroccan city together with the women’s U-20 team before their showdown with the Black Queens on Wednesday.

Upon arrival, the North Africans were immediately transferred to the Accra City Hotel, where the two Moroccan women’s national teams will be staying for their five-day stay.

The Moroccan delegation arrived with 24 players, including Fatma Winnech from Saint Etienne, Hanane Ait El Hadji from Zaragoza, Zubaida Al-Bastali from Napoli, Salma Amani from Dijon and Nahila Ludi.

Kelly Lindsey will aim to qualify the North Africans for the 2022 African Cup of Nations for Women for the first time since 2000 following the country’s success in the Unaf Women’s Cup earlier this year.

And the American strategist will seek to use the set-up match to put Moroccans in good shape for the next Awcon qualifiers following the cancellation of the 2020 edition due to coronavirus.

On Thursday, the Black Princesses will look to seize the opportunity to avenge their 3-2 loss in Morocco to their U-20 counterparts.

And four days later, the Mercy Tagoe ladies will take on the senior Atlas Lionesses at Accra Sports Stadium.

The friendlies will be the first international women’s outings for the two countries since the closure as a result of the global health crisis caused by the coronavirus pandemic.
