Many media outlets are fighting for a piece of the “commercial pie” this political season.
It is very difficult for the media to meet their business needs, but National Democratic Congress (NDC) National Communications Officer Sammy Gyamfi made a strong case for “Nokw3r3 mmr3” (Moment of Truth) on UTV, owned by the Group organization.
The first broadcast got many people to share links about parts of the great show. The program was even announced by none other than the 2020 NDC flag bearer and former Ghanaian President HE John Dramani Mahama.
Many wanted to help sustain the program to expose the corruption of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) administration.
The NPP, on the other hand, was allegedly calling the UTV managers, owners, and directors to explain why and how they got that show on UTV.
For whatever reasons, UTV also offered NPP the opportunity to broadcast their ‘counter’ show on Mondays at 9pm as well. His show was dubbed “Asempa y3 tia” hosted by Owusu Bempa, who many wonder if he belongs to the National Democratic Party (NDP) or the PNP. In fact, only the PNP leader, Nana Akufo-Addo, can tell.
Again, whether the NPP paid for the program or not; I beg you, that is not part of the scope I am writing about. Let me ‘cut’ my house business (take care of my own business)!
Initially, I knew that they were intent on airing their show at the same time as when NDC Communications Officer Sammy Gyamfi aired their show.
Fast forward, I heard there was a ‘soft call’ made to Grupo Pese with an explanation and after that, simply put, the NDC program can no longer be broadcast on UTV.
You can give your reasons for this, because I have mine too. This government is blatantly corrupt; and fellow Ghanaians, ‘Opana’ boring! Simple!
We barely have a month until the 2020 elections and I think Nana Akufo-Addo has not yet shown us all her evil.
Remember the statements about Nana Akufo-Addo made by former President Kufuor, Mr. Kofi Koomson, the editor of the Chronicle newspaper; Mr. Kofi Jumah, NPP Lead Member, Dr. Nyaho Nyaho Tamakloe, NPP Founding Member, and many others to inform you about who he really is.
In the very unlikely event that you win the 2020 election, imagine what you will do during your next four-year term, when you no longer need your votes !!!
I don’t know if the NPP has shares in UTV or Peace FM, but I can tell you that its control over these stations is obvious and serious. For me, this is just a warning for tomorrow.
When people’s radio stations were closed, many stayed on the sidelines, when bulldozers were seized and some burned, the saints did not care. The banks collapsed, the used car dealerships are also on the verge of bankruptcy if, sadly, the nuclear power plant regains power. But God forbid!
We have a tyrant on our hands and we haven’t seen anything yet. If we want a peaceful Ghana, let’s kick Nana out. Let’s finish hard to see better days for Ghana.
