Security analyst Colonel Festus Aboagye has blamed the series of violent attacks in the country recently on the predictability of police checkpoints and barricades.

Speaking with Emefa Apawu on Joy FM, Aboagye revealed that armed robbers have gotten smarter over time and find alternative ways to commit high-level crimes, as such, maintaining a checkpoint makes it easier for them to find other suitable locations to attack. people.

“Once the barricades become static, they are predictable, anyone who wants to commit a crime knows where these points are and will find other places where there are no such checkpoints in the immediate vicinity,” he said.

Following the death of the Member of Parliament for the Mfantseman constituency, Ekow Quansah Hayford highlighted the need for security personnel to be assigned to notable individuals in the country along with the inclusion of increased security for the general public.

“Certain people in this country should be afforded certain levels of security, but that higher level of security should not preclude the safety of the general public.”
