A 63-year-old Lakeside resident in Accra, Abraham Ackom’s act of selfless patriotism has drawn attention.

As a firm believer in offering himself to help the authorities in the nation’s development, Ackom offers to help fill the potholes in his neighborhood.

He is a professional carpenter, but now he sells coconut to survive. He also spends his time filling in the potholes to help the development of the country.

Speaking in an interview with JD Nyaami on SVTV Africa, Ackom said: ” I sell coconut but I decided to fill the potholes because the government / MP cannot do everything. I am helping to develop the country and it is not a bad idea. ”

After a hard day’s work as a coconut seller, Ackom proceeds to fill in the potholes in his area.

“Some people give me money while others praise me for my good work.” he revealed.

Despite the overwhelming nature of filling in the potholes, he said he doesn’t expect anyone to pay him because he doesn’t consider it a job.

Ackom has traveled to Nigeria several times in search of greener pastures. His first visit to the West African country was in 1981.
