Medeama SC will appear before the GFA Disciplinary Committee in its next session for violating the protocols of the GFA COVID-19 session.
In a letter sent to the club after their Week 12 game against Hearts of Oak at Akoon Park in Tarkwa, the GFA has informed Medeama SC that until the Disciplinary Committee determines their case, all Club home games must be played behind closed doors. .
As such, only ten (10) members of the Medeama SC management will be allowed in the stadium and ten (10) members of the management for visiting clubs during matches at Tarkwa Akoon Park.
Below are the immediate actions taken by the GFA after Medeama violated Covid 19 protocols:
1. The GFA condemns, without reservation, the violations of the GFA Day Protocols (lack of social distancing, number of spectators, etc.) that took place at Akoon Park, Tarkwa.
2. That Medeama SC, the local club, be immediately referred to the Disciplinary Committee in relation to infractions of the provisions of the GFA-approved Shift Protocols. The Disciplinary Committee has been tasked with dealing with this matter quickly.
3. That until the case is fully resolved, Medeama SC will play its home games behind closed doors at Akoon Park, Tarkwa.
4. That when playing behind Closed Doors at Akoon Park, Tarkwa, only ten (10) members of Medeama SC management will be allowed in the stadium and ten (10) members of management for visiting clubs. Only ten (10) people from the media will be allowed (to be accredited by the GFA). No other person in attendance.
5. That further action can be taken in the event of further violations of the GFA Working Protocols.
6. That all other clubs must take notice and strictly adhere to the GFA Shift Protocols.
The GFA wishes to advise all members (especially Premier League clubs, Division One clubs, women’s Premier League clubs, lower league clubs) and interested parties that the Association will not hesitate to take steps to ensure strict adherence. to the National COVID-19 Protocols, as well as its approved GFA Matchday Protocols.
The GFA further assured all Ghanaians that the Association will continue to support the national fight against the COVID-19 pandemic. The Association has urged all clubs to continue educating all their supporters and the public on the COVID-19 protocols.
