Mauricio Pochettino has reportedly been offered a return to management with La Liga’s Athletic Bilbao.
The Argentine has been out of work since he was fired by Tottenham in 2019, but has been strongly linked to the Manchester United job.
Following United’s Champions League defeat to Istanbul Basaksehir, reports emerged that the Red Devils had made contact with Pochettino.
Under fire, Ole Gunar Solskjaer responded by leading his Manchester United side to victory over Everton, cooling speculation for the time being.
Meanwhile, Spanish media Marca says that Athletic Bilbao is looking to attack while the iron is hot and sign Pochettino while he is still available.

Current Athletic manager Gaizka Garitano is holding on to his job by a thread, and the Spanish club reportedly wants to replace him with a high-profile candidate.
Pochettino has kept his cards close to his chest regarding where and to whom he wants to administer in recent months.
But he admitted he is desperate to get back on the bench, telling Sky Sports: “I always feel ready to get back in the game. I love football, it’s my job.
“It is not a stress when you are working, it is not a stress to go to training camp, it is not a stress to prepare the game, it is not a stress to compete.
“My hair is long, look. I hope to cut it off when we start working again. I am looking forward to playing the game again.”
