English international Mason Mount has opened up to the signing of Moroccan international Hakim Ziyech and the great difference he has made in the squad.
These sentiments came after Ziyech put on an impressive performance against Burnley while scoring a goal and recording an assist in the comfortable 3-0 win.
“We know what he can do with the ball and what he brings to the team,” Mount said.
“World class player, obviously he came in and scored the other night [against Krasnodar] and scoring on his Premier League debut. He is a brilliant player.
“It is a pleasure to play with him, he is very intelligent with the ball, he contributes a lot to the team. He is a very good player.”
This is certainly a positive start for Ziyech, who missed most of the season due to illness and injuries, but Frank Lampard believes there is more to come from the former Ajax star.
“I think I’ve said it a little bit now, but he brings us a different quality with his eye for a pass, reception, his center and everything, his assist,” Lampard said.
“I expected a lot from him because he was very conscious of his quality, that’s why we brought him to the club.
“But what I’ve seen since he’s here too is his absolute personality when he plays to want the ball.
“His pace of work off the ball is also very, very good.
“And he has brought those qualities and has entered with great confidence.
“He’s definitely given us a huge boost with his demeanor and the way he plays.
“Two games in a few days, with a trip to Russia in between, for him, after so long away, it was a very good start for him.”
