The co-president of the Citizen Movement against Corruption, Edem Senanu, says that the Special Prosecutor’s office is not being professional in handling recent matters.
Speaking to JoyNews’ Evans Mensah on PM Express, Senanu said it was disturbing to learn that the Office of the Special Prosecutor, with all its power and mandate, had asked the Democratic National Congress (NDC) standard bearer, John Dramani Mahama to come and be interrogated on his own.
“Martin Amidu is going through a very low point in the performance of his official duties. All this that I could not invite him because it is a political season is a construction that cannot be accepted, “he said.
Senanu used the platform to urge the Special Prosecutor to provide a separate objective report on the Airbus scandal, as did the office for the Agyapa Royalty Agreement.
He also added that it is not healthy for Martin Amidu to continue exchanging words with former President John Mahama.
“Mr. Amidu should focus on his work and give us a separate full report on the Airbus scandal and proceed to invite the former president for questioning.”
The group’s Co-Chair advised the Special Prosecutor to remain neutral to regain credibility and follow due process.
He again applauded Martin Amidu for his 67-page report which he described as “good and well-informed”.
