Manchester United face a race against time to secure their transfers on the day of the transfer deadline, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer desperate for reinforcements after Sunday’s humiliating 6-1 loss to Tottenham Hotspur, and they are expected at least two new additions today.
Free agent Edinson Cavani will join United after leaving Paris Saint-Germain in the summer, and the forward’s agent will charge a fee of around £ 10 million due to the absence of a transfer fee, while also expected that Porto defender Alex Telles moved to Old Trafford after flying to Manchester yesterday.
But United’s interest in Borussia Dortmund forward Jadon Sancho has not made any headway and as a result he is expected to make a late move for Barcelona’s Ousmane Dembélé. In terms of departures, Diogo Dalot completed a loan to AC Milan yesterday afternoon, although Solskjaer would be forgiven for trying to sell out the entire squad after Sunday’s horror show. NEVILLE IN WOOD
Gary Neville has been an outspoken critic of Manchester United’s transfer policy and has given voice to the dissatisfied fan base.
United Executive Vice President Ed Woodward is the target of the most criticism because he is the man in charge of the transfers.
But Neville doesn’t think Woodward is the problem and that it’s Manchester United’s structure that could be improved. He said:

IS THE DEMBELE AGREEMENT STILL HAPPENING?
Yes, according to Duncan Castles, who claims that Barcelona have changed their stance on the 23-year-old and will allow him to go on loan for the entire season.
But only if he signs a new long-term contract with the club. Here’s what Manchester United wanted to be able to catch the winger if this turns out to be true:

SANCHO’S CALL DELAYED ENGLAND
Jadon Sancho has to wait before joining the England team after breaking coronavirus protocols by attending a surprise party for Tammy Abraham.
Sancho, Abraham and Ben Chilwell, who was also at the party, must undergo another coronavirus test before they are allowed to meet with the rest of the squad.
Reece James has been hired as a backup.

TRAORE ESTABLISHED FOR THE JANUARY MOVEMENT
Manchester United have reached an agreement to sign 18-year-old Atalanta winger Amad Traoré for € 30 million (£ 27.2 million) plus extras.
The teenager was heading to Parma on loan before United moved in early in the deadline.
The winger, who scored in his Serie A debut last season, will join United in January with a pending work permit.
Atalanta forward Papu Gómez recently said about Traoré: “He is a future star, believe me. During our training sessions he plays like Messi! You can’t stop it, it’s incredible, our centrals have serious problems when Traoré is on the field … it’s fantastic! ”.

YOUNG PEOPLE COULD STAY AT OLD TRAFFORD
Chris Smalling’s move to Rome seemed like a certainty a couple of weeks ago, but now it may not happen.
Manchester United are awaiting their £ 20 million starting price with Rome reluctant to pay the fee. If this deal goes ahead, it seems likely to be a last-minute deal with Smalling having a private jet on hold.
However, there could still be a place for Smalling at Old Trafford as the club faces defensive problems and the center-back is a worrying position.
