OPINION: United’s signing could unlock Mason Greenwood’s true potential
It may sound a bit cliché, but consistency is the only thing Manchester United wants right now.
While his trait of playing poorly, going backwards but eventually winning could be somewhat predictable of late, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer knows something must change drastically if his team is to make the most of a Premier League season that is there for the taking.
United’s mixed start to the season has largely been called a crisis by those outside the club, but after ten games played, they are now fourth in the table, just three points behind starting leader Chelsea.
The form of the English top flight will likely change again once Tottenham and Liverpool have played on Sunday, but for the first time this season, the top half of the table shows some signs of the normalcy that most had assumed.
A hot streak of form now could define the entire season for any title contender, with United keenly aware that a strong winter could see them blossom into the spring.
It’s for that obvious reason that “consistency” is still a buzzword at Old Trafford, but to pull it off, Solskjaer needs to start showing something with his own picks on the field.
