Cristiano Ronaldo has been linked to a United comeback in recent days, with the suggestion that he could leave Juventus.
But Watford captain Troy Deeney urged him to join Wolves instead of United, due to the Portuguese connection of the Molineux club.
“I think he was more looking at a club like Wolves with the Portugal connection,” Deeney told talkSPORT.
“That would probably work.
“Whoever is getting it is getting incredible talent. This season I think six out of four he already has in Serie A.
“You are not going to get the same Ronaldo that you had at Manchester United. I think that will always be the comparison.
“You look at Gareth Bale, for example, he’s returned to Tottenham. You are already comparing him with the one who left to go to Madrid.
“You’re still going to get goals from Ronaldo and you’re still going to get goals from Bale. That is going to be at the forefront of everyone’s mind, is he at that level?
“If he’s available, I would be very surprised if there wasn’t one of the top ten clubs trying to sign him into the Premier League.”
