‘Solskjaer looks out of reach’
Former Leeds and Man City defender Danny Mills has become the latest expert to suggest Manchester United should replace Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as manager.
Mills told talkSPORT that firing Solskjaer is United’s only option, in his opinion:
“What can Manchester United do right now to change what they are doing on the pitch? The only thing you can do is change managers. Let’s say Leeds loses its manager right now, [Marcelo] Bielsa is leaving, he has had enough, he is leaving.
“Okay, who do I want to replace him? You start looking at the names and you say: ‘[Jose] Mourinho, yes, Pep [Guardiola] yes, [Jurgen] Klopp, yeah [Carlo] Ancelotti, yes, Brendan Rodgers, yes, David Moyes, probably, Frank Lampard, yes, [Mikel] Arteta, yes. ‘
“And then you start thinking about Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, you are not convinced. It’s in the middle of the list at least and that’s without things like [Mauricio] Pochettino enters the mix, people who are out of work right now.
“So the only thing you can change at Manchester United to improve them and improve the mentality is the manager. He is not necessarily a bad coach, but he has no experience at this level and sometimes he seems out of place. “
