Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer believes his team is better at taking down teams following the arrival of Bruno Fernandes in January. And he does not rule out deploying the Portugal international alongside Paul Pogba and Donny van de Beek. All three players could be involved when the Red Devils face West Ham in their Premier League showdown on Saturday night (5:30 PM).
Manchester United signed Fernandes from Sporting Lisbon in January, paying an initial sum of £ 47 million to bring the 26-year-old to Old Trafford.
And it’s been fantastic ever since, with the playmaker helping the Red Devils close the gap with players like Liverpool and Manchester City.
United have benefited dramatically from the arrival of Fernandes and, speaking ahead of his team’s clash with West Ham on Saturday night, Solskjaer expressed his belief that the midfielder had helped his team defeat their opponents.
And the Norwegian also praised Van de Beek, Edinson Cavani and Alex Telles, saying the trio are giving their team a different way of playing.
“We have exceptional pace at halftime and when we have to fall deep and defend, we know we can use that,” Solskjaer told Sky Sports.

“But we want to be at the forefront. With Bruno arriving, we are managing to break teams more often.
“After that we add Donny, with his movement, his wit around the box and his spatial awareness, which is brilliant for us, then there is Edinson, who may be in the box, and Alex [Telles] with his journey.
“So, we are working on the style trying to put together a team of players that gives us more ways to play.
“What is exciting is that these players can also improve. Most of them are still at a stage in their careers where they can develop a lot. “
Solskjaer also refused to rule out lining Van de Beek, Pogba and Fernandes together.

“Over a long season, they might have a series of games together,” he said.
“It may be that we have a system that fits all together.
“But then you have Nemanja [Matic], Scott [McTominay] and Fred, and the balance they can give you.
“It’s difficult to see a team without at least one of them, because of that balance. All of them will play their part, it is only up to them to act when they have the opportunity. “
Solskjaer recently praised Fernandes as a leader.
And the 26-year-old has now responded to those comments, telling the club’s official website: “I think it comes naturally to me.
“I don’t do anything like saying ‘I want to be a leader or I want to do things differently than someone else,’ it’s the natural way I have.
“It is something that is in my game. Sometimes you have to improve on this as well because you need the leadership of different players in different modes.
“For me the point is to help everyone with my voice when I can and also with my energy and everything I do in the game to help the team.
“The most important thing for me is to help my teammates in whatever way I can, if it’s with my voice, then it’s with my voice, if it’s with my energy, then it’s with my energy.”
