Man United approaches Pochettino as Solskjaer’s replacement

Manchester United have probed former Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino as a possible replacement, according to the Manchester Evening News.

United have had a disappointing start to the season having finished the last season strong and have lost their last two games: a Premier League match against Arsenal and a Champions League trip to Istanbul Basaksehir.

If they lose to Everton on Saturday, United could finish the weekend 17th in the national standings.

When asked if he feared for his job after the defeat in Turkey on Wednesday, Solskjaer insisted he was not worried about his future.

“I refuse to comment on such a thing. Of course, it is early and the opinions are there all the time. You have to stay strong, ”he told reporters.

“I am employed by the club to do a job and I do the best I can with my staff.”

Pochettino has been out of work since leaving Tottenham last November and if United moves in for him, he won’t have to pay Spurs any compensation.
