Opinion: Man City Must Remember Its Roots Before Voting for Premier League and EFL Big Picture Reform Plans

Manchester City is being handed a ready-made plan that will give them everything they need to establish themselves as one of the biggest clubs in England and Europe.

But before they endorse a plan that, on paper, has few downsides for the club, they must remember where they came from. That could even mean voting against it.

It’s safe to say that EFL President Rick Parry’s ‘Project Big Picture’, developed with Manchester United and Liverpool, hasn’t gone too well.

By giving the EFL a larger share of Premier League revenue and a £ 250 million advance on those payments that would guarantee the short-term future of those 72 clubs, the plan would redistribute power in the Premier League.

Instead of the current one-team, one-vote democratic mechanism, the ‘Big Picture’ would give the ‘Big Six’ (including City), plus three other long-standing Premier League clubs, most of the voting power. to pass decisions that affect the entire league.
