Former Ghana coach Malik Jabir is disappointed that Asamoah Gyan diverted Asante Kotoko for the Legon Cities and has predicted he will have trouble in the “small team”.
Gyan had been a long-term target for the Porcupine Warriors, but they couldn’t match his financial demands.
The legendary forward signed with Legon Cities on the day of the deadline, in a move that will see Gyan win a million dollars.
“Gyan’s return is good for the local league, but I wish he had joined Kotoko because I have seen that his heart goes out to Kotoko, but maybe we didn’t have the money to carry him.
If I had come to Kotoko, I would have had a lot easier than fighting in that small team, ”he said on Luv FM.
Jabir further stated that Gyan should have chosen a club with a lot of experience on the continent as a boost to his appearance on the local scene.
“He will fight because who knows Legon Cities in Africa? Who knows Legon Cities even in our hierarchy? ” I ask.
“Now they are fighting to leave because it is a new team. It is not your fault; they are a new side that is struggling to succeed. So, it means that he [Gyan] He will fight there more than if he had come to Kotoko. “
Malik, however, believes that Gyan’s presence will add a lot to Ghana’s first division.
“First of all, now you will tell everyone who went out and never returned and remind them that when you leave and are about to finish, come and end up at home without any embarrassment.
Second, he will once again help the team Asamoah Gyan joins raise more money at the stadium because a lot of people will want to see him play. If you look back in our days, because of just one player, a lot of people used to come to the stadium. “
