Today, October 17th marks the birthday of Charles Nii Armah Mensah, known in music and dancehall circles as Shatta Wale.
The multi-award winning Ghanaian artist is already receiving countless wishes on social media even though the day has just begun.
One of the first prominent personalities to send a personal message to the head of the Shatta Movement is the Archbishop President and General Overseer of Action Chapel International, Archbishop Nicholas Duncan Williams.
In a video circulating on social media viewed by GhanaWeb, the respected man of God spoke words of blessing on Shatta Wale and extended his goodwill to the music artist.
“Shatta, today I was told that it is your birthday and I wanted to take the opportunity from my heart, on behalf of myself, my family and all your friends in the nations of the world to wish you a happy birthday. May you grow, prosper in wisdom and understanding. Make it a game changer and a blast for your generation. I send you the courtesies of my good will and the blessing of the Lord. Once again happy birthday, be an inspiration to your generation. Amen, ”said the Archbishop.
Shatta Wale, a multi-award winning Ghanaian dancehall artist, in 2004 after releasing his hit song ‘Bandana from Ghana’, he left the music scene and returned around 2013 where he changed his name from Bandana to Shatta Wale.
Over the years he has dominated the Ghanaian music industry and has a large army of “cult” followers under his Empire of the Shatta Movement.
She has released multiple hits and has appeared on others as well, the most important of which is her involvement with the American pop star, Beyonce’s The Lion King album.
The King Already Song on the album with Shatta Wale has grossed millions of streams on various online platforms, including Youtube, where the song’s official audio and video have a combined stream of over 51 million.
