Professor Stephen Adei, Chairman of the Board of the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA), has said that the accusations made against him by John Dramani Mahama, the NDC presidential candidate, are “false, false and malicious”.

He indicated that it is inappropriate for someone like the former president, who also seeks to lead the country for four more terms as president.

“Alleging criminality and attempting against my integrity as a citizen with an immaculate career as an economist, diplomat, former rector, professor emeritus of Leadership and Economics, as well as someone who is not ethically ashamed of being a born-again Christian, theologian and preacher of the gospel of Jesus Christ is most regrettable, John, ”wrote Professor Adei in a statement copied to GhanaWeb.

“… And doing it taking advantage of social networks is regrettable. Therefore, I seek an unconditional apology from HE John Dramani Mahama, or I will advise it after December 7, as I would not like to distract him from his seemingly desperate effort to win the next election in any way. “

John Dramani Mahama in an exclusive interview with Kwesi Pratt Jnr in Tamale claimed without evidence that Professor Stephen and Ken Ofori-Atta, the Finance Minister, are involved in a dubious act that has been discovered at the GRA.

He indicated that the measure sought to paint an optimistic panorama of the macroeconomic indicators of the GRA and its conduct is a criminal act.

“Some of these things have been very criminal and I am amazed that Professor Adei, as president of GRA, could conspire to do something as criminal as this,” Mahama said.
